Stasis

I feel the single malicious purpose
As the dark closes about me steadily
Seeking to devour my light and throw
My soul into the old familiar stasis
Of chaos, leaving behind no trace that
Reminds the world of who I could have
Been, save for a footprint or two glowing
With the cold black negativity of the void.
